Pun’kin Carving Contest

Bring your pumpkins and tools and join Hodges Community Center for a pumpkin carving contest on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10:00 am. Ages 5 through adult will enjoy competing for prizes! Compete as a family or against each other! Cost is $5 per pumpkin and includes the basic carving utensils. Youth age 10 or younger should be accompanied by a parent for assistance using the carving tools. Pre-registration is required so we have enough for everyone! Hodges Community Center is located at 4011 University in Clapp Park. For information, call 767-3706.

Monster Mash Dance

Bring your sweetheart and friends to the annual Monster Mash Dance at the Lubbock Senior Center on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy “treats”, a costume contest and then dance the night away to live music by the West Texas Express. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with dancing beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Lubbock Senior Center is located at 2001 19th Street. Call 767-2710 for more information.

Haunted House

Prepared to be scared as Rawlings Community Center presents their 4th annual Haunted House on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 6:00-11:00 p.m. Three cans of food or $3 per person will get you in, but how you get out is to be seen! All canned items will benefit the South Plains Food Bank. Kids of all ages from ages 8 to adult will love this scary event! Rawlings Community Center is located at 40th Street and Avenue B next to Harwell Elementary. For more information on this house of horrors, call 767-2704.
