The week of celebration continues on Friday September 17th with the Miss Hispanic Lubbock Scholarship pageant in the Theatre at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. The pageant will have a Hispanic Cultural theme that will showcase the talent of the contestants as well as other singers and dancers. All contestants will have a Hispanic themed talent presentation.
On Saturday a giant free concert will take place at the on the North West parking lot at the Civic Center. Local Mariachi groups, folkloricos, individual singers and groups will perform. The fantastic food vendors which feature all types of traditional Mexican and American Food will be selling their unique offerings from noon until 10:00p.m. Sunday will feature a car show with all types of vehicles from classic to low riders. The concert will continue with a family friendly ticket price. Performers will be announced a few weeks from the show, but a great lineup is in the works.
