The Texas Tech defense was lead by junior linebacker Paul Williams. The Tech Defense held the owls to only a single second half touchdown. Halftime adjustments seem to be the theme of this year's Raider defense. They have thus far proved to be dominating in the second half by allowing a single touchdown through the first three games.
More impressively was the steady rise of true freshman defensive tackle Colby Whitlock. Whitlock for his third straight game has proven why he is already one of Tech's best on the front line. Due to his performances through the first three game of the season, Whitlock has earned a starting spot for this weekend's game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
This weekend's conference opener will be the first major test for the Red Raiders. They will be traveling into an extremely hostile environment where traditionally the Raiders have had issues performing well. OSU enters this pivotal game after an embarrassing loss at the hands of the University of Troy 41-23. The Cowboys will be out to even their record in front of a home crowd.
